Our History

Britannia Marine Services was founded in 1995, initially trading from modest South London premises as a supplier of parts and consumables to the European, Middle Eastern and North African marine industries.

The remainder of the decade saw project management and engineering services added to (increasingly wide-ranging) parts/equipment supply and in 2000 the company relocated to a state of the art facility on South Wimbledon Industrial Estate (London).

The Birth of Britannia Group

During the early part of the new millennium the company made bold strides into the oil & gas industry. In 2002 this expansion was harnessed by the formation of Britannia Oil Services Ltd., which has gone on to write its own success story.

A third company was also created at this time – Britannia Freight & Packing Ltd (recently re-named Britannia Logistics Solutions) – a non-profit entity that would provide greater control over increasingly complicated logistics requirements.

The improved economies of scale and extra resources provided by the group structure played a large part in helping Britannia Marine overcome the financial downturns associated with 9/11 and the global recession.

And now, In 2012, with the storm weathered and the marine and oil strands of the group acting as dual pistons served by a dedicated logistics arm, Britannia Marine is looking forward to a sustained period of further growth with pride and confidence.
